2011 A-Levels results are out

18 Aug

Pupils all over the UK have received their A-level results this morning. Grade inflation continues, with the pass rate rising for a 28th year in a row, to 97.8%! It tells you all you need to know about the minimum standards necessary to pass the A-Level. An interesting trend is the increase in maths and science A-levels, which continue to gain popularity over modern languages.

8.2% of all entries were awarded the A* grade, and 30% of A* grades are taken by candidates from private schools. We will be watching out for the A-level league tables derived from these results in the future.
